Sure.
Most pros will take the time to check out your stuff if you're cool and ask nicely. But ask first.
Don't send out huge files in e-mails, and don't take up all afternoon at a convention.
Be responsive when you get criticism, and take your lumps. Just be friendly and willing to talk objectively about what you want to achieve with your work, and you'll get more out of a portfolio review.
